Humbled at Our Lady of Hope

our lady of hope

What a fantastic Saturday, thanks to a wonderful group of people from Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare, MI.  A big shout out to Donna and her team of ladies who arranged for me to present Finding Hope on Vegas to a large crowd.  During the presentation we discussed the types of prayer and how it is instrumental in helping people deal with life’s unexpected.

After the presentation the ladies provided a delightful brunch which allowed me to meet many people and hear their own touching stories.

As a bonus, I sold more than fifty Finding Hope on Vegas books.  I am humbled by such a response! God is good!   May the Good Lord continue to bless Our Lady of Hope Parish as they strive to bring others to Christ.

FINDING HOPE ON VEGAS POSTER 4

I couldn’t put the book down. I love how this mom tells her story of the accident and all the miracles & medicine that followed that kept her son alive. You will never doubt the power of prayer after reading this book. Have a tissue ready when you read it because you actually feeling like you are right there with her every step of the way.

Alma College

A big shout out to Judy McKenna, Director of Nursing Education, for inviting me to come and speak with the Nursing students at Alma College.  Finding Hope on Vegas was a required read last fall for many students in the Alma Nursing program.  I can not wait to hear the students’ perspectives on the book and answer their questions.  Wish me luck!

Eighteen and three-fourths gallons of blood was needed to save Nathan Davis. Yet, throughout this tragedy the Davis family found an unexpected gift by an unsuspecting giver: hope on a bull named Vegas.

On August 9, 2014, tragedy struck the annual Gratiot County Fair.  In the blink of an eye, a fifteen-hundred-pound bull named Vegas stomped seventeen-year-old Nathan Davis to near death. Initially, no one understood the extent of Nathan’s injuries as he walked with assistance out of the arena.  The situation, however, grew bleak when Nathan’s health quickly took a turn for the worse and he found himself fighting for his life in a small rural hospital.

Finding Hope on Vegas details an incredible, true story of relentless dedication and determination and how a self-reliant family suddenly found themselves completely dependent on Divine Providence and intervention.

For the Davis family, excruciating minutes slowly turned into hours, days, and weeks.  It would literally take miracle after miracle to keep Nathan alive, but through the outpouring of support from family, friends, and strangers, the Davis family found the strength to handle more than they could have ever imagined.

Finding Hope on Vegas Events

Although summer has ended and school has started, I have still found some time to promote Finding Hope on Vegas.

Next week I shall be visiting the Golden Agers at Sage Township Hall in Gladwin Michigan.   They have invited me to share the story with them. So if you have not had a chance to get your copy, I will have plenty available!

In November I will be heading North.  Horizon Books in Traverse City will be hosting a book signing for Finding Hope on Vegas during the busy Christmas shopping season.  Since books are always a great gift for Christmas, plan on stopping by Horizon Books for some great Christmas ideas and a copy of Finding Hope on Vegas.  See you there!
