What a great day!! Tim, Andrew and I met so many people at the Michigan Catholic Writers Event in Jackson today. Catholic Authors from all over Southern Michigan came together to discuss their books and their writing experiences. Thanks to Good Shepard Catholic Radio for some ‘live radio air-time’ and Deacon Tom for being a great host as I shared some of our family’s story.
One thing of the many things I will take away from this experience is the need for people to share their stories about how God works in their lives. These stories provide hope in what can be a dark world.
As a bonus, Andrew met Doug Shumard, an author, Good Shepard Board member….and former pilot! Doug gave Andrew some pointers on pursuing a pilot career and even gifted Andrew a pilot’s headset.
Blessings All…I am excited to announce Finding Hope on Vegas will be in Jackson, MI, at the Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church for the annual Catholic Authors of Michigan event on March 30, 2019. Authors will be available for meet and greet sessions and book signings from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Rumor has it they will even be interviewed by one of the sponsors, Good Shepherd Catholic Radio. So if you are in the area, stop by to meet some fantastic, local authors, or tune in to find your next great read.
I would like to thank Brenda Boyce from the Gladwin Church of the Nazarene for inviting me to be the keynote speaker for their Ladies’ Night Out Event. Prayer was the topic for the night. We discussed the types (vocal, meditative, contemplative) and forms (praise, thanksgiving, intercessory, contrition) of prayer. I shared the lessons I learned and how prayer brought glimmers of peace to our distraught family throughout our Vegas Crisis. The ladies were wonderful hosts. The food was delicious, the fellowship was warm, and music was uplifting!
I was invited to be a keynote speaker for St. Mark the Evangelist Parish Advent Tea Luncheon this past weekend. I am humbled by the warm reception I received. The atmosphere was beautiful as our hosts carefully prepared the hall for this wonderful occasion-fine china, real silverware, excellent tea and the food…to die for.
As we reflected on our topic, Prayer, I was moved by the stories people shared with me and how prayer affected their lives. God is God!
Thanks to Mary MacFarlane, Mary Dobias and Deb Foerster for the invitation and all their hard work! It was a great way to start Advent!
A big shout out to Cherie Sanderson from the Boulder Junction Library for hosting Finding Hope on Vegas. I am very thankful for the opportunity to speak about this miraculous story to such wonderful community! If your local stop by and say ‘Hi!’
If you have never been to Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, I encourage you to visit. There are so many friendly people in this quaint town. Craig and Jane, owners of peeplelures, always make a visitor feel at home while Denny and Ellen from the McCann’s Wine Bar provide the best atmosphere for the weary traveler. There are so many talented artists in the area who are more than happy to share their craft with visitors. I highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
